Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Stripline design for the extraction kicker of Compact Linear Collider damping rings

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2014
In the framework of the design study of future linear colliders, the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) aims for electron-positron collisions with high luminosity at a nominal center-of-mass energy of 3 TeV. To achieve the luminosity requirements, predamping

A Harmonic Impedance Identification Method of Traction Network Based on Data Evolution Mechanism

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
In railway electrification systems, the harmonic impedance of the traction network is of great value for avoiding harmonic resonance and electrical matching of impedance parameters between trains and traction networks.

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

Electrical Characterization of 65 W Cubic Sonoreactor with Horizontally Stacked Transducers

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2017
A sonoreactor was assembled with stacked lead zirconate titanate transducers. These transducers were attached on one side of a 10×10×10 cm$^3$ chamber and driven by an integrated circuit power amplifier. The impedance of the reactor was analyzed in order

Analysis of Thin Truncated Cylinder Scatterers Using Incomplete Hankel Functions and Surface Impedance Boundary Conditions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The incomplete Hankel functions (IHFs) are employed to evaluate the scattered field from thin truncated cylinders excited by uniform plane waves or by arbitrarily oriented elemental current sources. Metallic and dielectric lossy structures are modeled by
