High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Matroids arising from electrical networks
This paper introduces Dirichlet matroids, a generalization of graphic matroids arising from electrical networks. We present four main results. First, we exhibit a matroid quotient formed by the dual of a network embedded in a surface with boundary and ...

3D Simulation of Partial Discharge in High Voltage Power Networks [PDF]
Open accessPartial discharge (PD) events arise inside power cables due to defects of cable’s insulation material, characterized by a lower electrical breakdown strength than the surrounding dielectric material.

Physical Interpretations of Negative Imaginary Systems Theory
This paper presents some physical interpretations of recent stability results on the feedback interconnection of negative imaginary systems. These interpretations involve spring mass damper systems coupled together by springs or RLC electrical networks ...

Recurrent Neural Networks as Electrical Networks, a Formalization
Since the 1980s, and particularly with the Hopfield model, recurrent neural networks or RNN became a topic of great interest. The first works of neural networks consisted of simple systems of a few neurons that were commonly simulated through analogue electronic circuits.

A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

A model for cascading failures in complex networks
Large but rare cascades triggered by small initial shocks are present in most of the infrastructure networks. Here we present a simple model for cascading failures based on the dynamical redistribution of the flow on the network.

Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...
