Development and Preliminary In Vivo Study of 3D‐Printed Bioactive Glass Scaffolds with Trabecular Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports the fabrication of trabecular bioactive glass scaffolds (composition “1d”: 46.1SiO2‐28.7CaO‐8.8MgO‐6.2P2O5‐5.7CaF2‐4.5Na2O wt%) through vat photopolymerization and the relevant results from mechanical testing and in vivo implantation procedures in rabbit femora, showing great promise for bone tissue engineering applications.

The question of intrinsic origin of the metal-insulator transition in i-AlPdRe quasicrystal

open access: yes, 2015
The icosahedral (i-) AlPdRe is the most resistive quasicrystalline alloy discovered so far. Resistivities ($\rho$) of $1\Omega cm$ at 4K and correlated resistance ratios ($RRR = \rho_{4K}/\rho_{300K}$) of more than 200 are observed in polycrystalline ...

Highly Stable Low‐Temperature Phosphate Glass as a Platform for Multimaterial 3D Printing of Integrated Functional Microfluidic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A highly stable, low‐temperature phosphate glass is developed for multimaterial additive manufacturing of multifunctional microfluidics. Glass, metal conductors, and sacrificial polymer are coprinted, enabling monolithic fabrication. The sacrificial paste forms precise channels and decomposes during sintering.

Peculiar behavior of the electrical resistivity of MnSi at the ferromagnetic phase transition

open access: yes, 2006
The electrical resistivity of a single crystal of MnSi was measured across its ferromagnetic phase transition line at ambient and high pressures. Sharp peaks of the temperature coefficient of resistivity characterize the transition line.

Efficient and Scalable Radiative Cooling for Photovoltaics Using Solution‐Processable and Solar‐Transparent Mesoporous Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graded refractive index (GRI) structures are prepared from the layer‐by‐layer spray coating of the mesoporous SiO2 nanoparticles, showing high solar transparency and thermal emissivity. Under outdoor conditions, after 50 days, the GRI‐coated photovoltaics show on average 6.65 ± 1.48 °C lower than that of the non‐coated references, maintaining 80.9 ± 8 ...
