Thermal Conductivity and Electrical Resistivity of Solid Iron at Earth's Core Conditions from First Principles. [PDF]
We compute the thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity of solid hcp Fe to pressures and temperatures of Earth's core. We find significant contributions from electron-electron scattering, usually neglected at high temperatures in transition metals.

Fluctuation of the Solute Concentration in Al Rich Al-Zn Alloys [PDF]
Several Al-Zn alloys containing 0.041-4.4 at % Zn were studied by means of measurements of electrical resistivity. The results obtained are as follows : (1) The electrical resistivity increases when the specimen is annealed at temperatures higher than ...

The Measurement of Electrical Resistance [PDF]
Abstract In the present state of electrical science, the determination of the electric resistance of a conductor may be considered as the cardinal operation in electricity, in the same sense that the determination of weight is the cardinal operation in chemistry.

Effect of Chloride on Electrical Resistivity in Carbonated and Non-Carbonated Concrete
The resistivity of a concrete structure exposed to chloride ions indicates the risk of early corrosion damage, because a low resistivity is related to rapid chloride penetration and to a high corrosion rate. Concrete resistivity is a geometry-independent

The Resistance of the Electric Arc [PDF]
FOR the purpose of determining theoretically the best arrangement of cells for the production of the electric light, it was necessary to know the resistance of the electric arc. Not being acquainted with any source from which this information could be derived, we determined this resistance experimentally in two distinct ways.

Quantum conductance and electrical resistivity [PDF]
The Landauer formula for quantum conductance, based on the modern paradigm: "conduction is transmission", is generalized to samples of macroscopic size. Two regimes of electrical conduction, namely diffusive and ballistic ones, are studied. In the former regime, Drude's formula for the electrical resistivity is recovered and it is found a maximum ...
