Electrical Resistance Tomography imaging of concrete

Cement and Concrete Research, 2008
We apply Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT) for three dimensional imaging of concrete. In ERT, alternating currents are injected into the target using an array of electrodes attached to the target surface, and the resulting voltages are measured using the same electrodes.

Reconstruction techniques for electrical resistance tomography

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2000
The unknown resistivity of a bounded conductive body is retrieved starting from boundary measurements in stationary conditions. A new nonlinear inversion procedure following a critical analysis of the well-known Newton-Kantorovic method is proposed. The wavelets compression capabilities are used to reduce the number of parameters needed to describe the

Electrical resistance tomography with voltage excitation

2016 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference Proceedings, 2016
Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT) has been widely accepted as a useful tool to visualize conductivity distributions. Traditional ERT systems use a scheme with current injection and voltage measurement to detect changes in conductivity in a region of interest.

Coupling Simulation for electrical resistance tomography

2016 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques (IST), 2016
The performance of electrical resistance tomography (ERT) system is usually investigated by numerical simulation or static tests using some simple phantoms. The objective of this paper is to construct a coupling simulation model for ERT. In this model, the distribution information of multi-phase flow is exchanged between the fluid field and electric ...

Practical application of electrical impedance tomography and electrical resistive tomography

2016 Progress in Electromagnetic Research Symposium (PIERS), 2016
Usage of electrical impedance tomography and electrical resistance tomography will be in the article. The electrical impedance tomography is a widely investigated problem with many applications in physical and biological sciences. Medical imaging can be used primarily for the detection of pulmonary emboli, non-invasive monitoring of heart function and ...

Cross‐borehole electrical resistivity tomography

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 1990, 1990
Tomographic imaging (Hounsfield, 1974) has revolutionized medical X-ray diagnostics and is now a valuable technique in many areas of science. In geophysics, tomographic images have been constructed from both seismic and electromagnetic measurements (Anderson and Dziewonski, 1984; Dines and Lytle, 1979).

QERT - Quadrupole Electrical Resistivity Tomography

2020

The quadrupole technique for geoelectrics yields the apparent resistivity in a tensorial form in contrast to the scalar apparent resistivity obtained from classical geoelectrics. The quadrupole method in geoelectrics has been applied in the past only for long offsets between transmitter and receiver.

Image Appraisal Tools for Electrical Resistivity Tomography

Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems 2011, 2011
Image appraisal is a problem frequently encountered in electrical resistivity Tomography (ERT), and more generally in non-linear geophysical Inversion. It may include several aspects such as the identification of the geometry of buried structures, the detection of numerical artefacts, the estimation of the depth of Investigation or the exactitude of ...
