Smart Electrospun Nanofibers for Controlled Oil‐Water Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Stimuli‐responsive electrospun nanofibers are reviewed as advanced platforms for controlled oil/water separation. The effects of surface wettability, porous structure, and external stimuli, including pH, temperature, gas, and light, on separation performance are discussed.

Ionic Liquid (IL) Compatibilization of Macropore‐Infused Nanocomposite Emulsion Thermosets (MINETs) for Structural Ion Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Macropore‐infused nanocomposite emulsion thermosets (MINETs) offer tunable multifunctionality due to their incorporation of structural resin, functional nanoparticles, and working fluid stabilized by surfactant. Here we show that if ionic liquid working fluids are introduced, structural capacitive (conductive particles) or separator (insulating ...

Scalable Fabrication of Chemically Stabilized Gelatin Hydrogel Fibers by Thermal Drawing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Scalable processing of hydrogel fibers remains a major challenge. By coupling thermal drawing with Maillard chemistry, a transient viscous‐flow window is created that enables continuous fabrication of microstructured gelatin fibers tens of meters long, while continued in situ crosslinking during drawing stabilizes the fibers for physiological ...

MXene‐Based Electrocatalysts for Sustainable Nitrogen Conversion: From Ammonia Oxidation to Nitrogen and Nitrate Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This review compares MXene‐based electrocatalysis for ammonia oxidation, nitrogen reduction, and nitrate reduction, highlighting reaction‐dependent differences in catalytic performance and stability. MXenes are generally more compatible with cathodic nitrogen and nitrate reduction, whereas anodic ammonia oxidation raises stability concerns.
