ELECTRICAL POLARITY AND AUXIN TRANSPORT [PDF]
The polar basal transport of the growth substances (auxins, growth hormones) in plants is a well known phenomenon, demonstrated first by Went (81), and studied in detail by van der Weij (78, 80). These investigators used the Avena (oat) coleoptile.1 That the phenomenon is more or less general is indicated by the polar transport of auxin in roots ...

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Investigation of carbon nanotube quantum dots connected to ferromagnetic leads [PDF]
The implementation of ferromagnetic contacts in complex nanoelectronic devices, e.g. in spin-valves bears great potential for applications and fundamental investigations. Spin-valves are structures with two magnetic contacts and a non-magnetic medium (

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control
