Price Spikes in Electricity Markets: A Strategic Perspective [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper aims to analyze the issue of price spikes in electricity markets through the lens of noncooperative game theory. The case we consider is Australia’s long established National Electricity Market (NEM).

An Advanced High‐Performance Ultrafast Ammonium‐Ion Aqueous Battery Based on Dual‐Metal Redox Open Framework Molecular Magnet

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Prussian Blue Analogue molecular magnet KMnFeHCF is demonstrated as a high‐performance cathode for ultra‐fast aqueous ammonium‐ion batteries. A full cell using KMnFeHCF and graphite delivers ~71 mAh g−1 at 1.25 A g−1 and ~51 mAh g−1 at 2.2 A g−1, retaining 50% capacity after 1850 cycles. Its scalability, cycling stability, and low cost offer strong

Cathode Electrolyte Interphase Engineering by Quaternized Chitosan for Stabilized Li–SPAN Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, quaternized chitosan (QCS) is reported as an additive optimizing the sulfurized polyacrylonitrile (SPAN) cathode/electrolyte interphase (CEI). Its high positive charge density adsorbs PF6− anions, enriching the Helmholtz layer with aggregates. This promotes rapid anion desolvation, forming an anion‐derived CEI enriched in LiF.

Tailoring Sieving Pores and Electrochemical Interface Intercalation for Mechanically Resilient Recycled Micro‐Silicon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, an innovative strategy is proposed, using micron‐sized Si recovered from photovoltaic waste as raw material, combined with electrochemical lithium alloying, reacting with CO2 to obtain sieve‐like porous structure design to overcome mechanical dynamic limitations.

Strategic Behaviour, Resource Valuation and Competition in Electricity Markets [PDF]

open access: yes
By means of a suitable Bayesian game we study spot electricity markets from a structural point of view. We address the problem of individual and aggregate eficciency and we show how to value water from market observables.

Leveraging Reaction Heterogeneity in Bimodal Cathodes to Enhance Longevity of SiO/Graphite | NCM Full cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bimodal cathode composed of single‐ and polycrystalline NCM particles induces end‐of‐discharge overpotential rise via reaction heterogeneity, effectively regulating the depth of discharge of SiO in SiO/graphite anodes. This design suppresses mechanical degradation of SiO and enables long‐term cycling stability without compromising the energy density ...

Electricity Prices and Generator Behaviour in Gross Pool Electricity Markets [PDF]

open access: yes
Electricity market liberalisation has become common practice internationally. The justification for this process has been to enhance competition in a market traditionally characterised by statutory monopolies in an attempt to reduce costs to end-users ...
