ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.

Electro-Osmotic Permeability Coefficient of Peat with Different Degree of Humification
Peat is unconsolidated superficial deposits with high non-crystalline colloid (humus) content, constituting the subsurface of wetland systems. Electro-osmosis is one of the electrokinetic phenomena and consists of the motion of liquid through a ...

A porous anion exchange layer (AEL) is implemented in a forward‐biased bipolar membrane CO2 electrolyzer to suppress carbonate crossover, support CO2 regeneration and maintain cathode alkalinity. Two fabrication strategies are compared—deposition on a silver gas diffusion electrode (GDE) or on the CEM—showing that a porous AEL‐coated GDE provides the ...

Dynamics of Heparin Translocations Through Solid‐State Nanopores
Carbohydrates can be detected with solid‐state nanopores, but their kinetics of voltage‐driven passage are fast. To better understand the dynamics of passage of these biomolecules and the role of electrophoresis and electroosmosis, we studied the translocation characteristics of heparin as a function of salt concentration, pH and voltage polarity ...
