Electro-thermal analysis of contact resistance

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2018
Electro-Mechanical characterization over copper samples are performed at the macroscopic level to understand the dependence of electrical contact resistance and temperature on surface roughness and contact pressure. For two different surface roughness levels of samples, six levels of load are selected and varied to capture the bulk temperature rise and

Pyro-Electro-Thermal Analysis of LiNbO3 using Microheaters

2015 Fotonica AEIT Italian Conference on Photonics Technologies, 2015
Microheaters have been widely investigated for their sensor-based applications, such as gas sensor, flow rate sensor and other microsystems. Here, we investigate the pyroelectric effect, activate by microheaters fabricated on -Z surface of LiNbO3 crystal.

Electro-thermal analysis of flexible micro-heater

2015 38th International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology (ISSE), 2015
Micro heaters have particular applications in the gas sensor and the biotechnological field. The micro heaters are used to obtain the desired constant temperatures over the entire heating surface. Additionally the power consumption should be as low as possible.

Electro-Thermal Analysis of Suspended Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes

2020 IEEE MTT-S International Conference on Numerical Electromagnetic and Multiphysics Modeling and Optimization (NEMO), 2020
This paper studies the electro-thermal property of suspended multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with high-bias voltages. A compact model of resistance with temperature-dependent parameters is employed for electric modeling of MWCNTs. In the thermal analysis, a compact model of thermal conductivity is considered and the finite difference method is ...

Modeling and analysis of electro‐thermal microactuators

Journal of the Chinese Institute of Engineers, 2009
Abstract This paper presents a dynamic model for analyzing the static and dynamic performance of electro‐thermal microactuators. In the proposed model, we adopt a lumped approach that decomposes the electro‐thermal‐mechanical system into a series of electrical resistors, heat resistors, heat capacitors, and a mechanical frame.

Electro-Thermal Analysis of In-Plane Micropump

IEEE Transactions on Components and Packaging Technologies, 2010
This paper describes the modeling for a packaged in-plane micropump developed at the Automation and Robotics Research Institute, The University of Texas, Arlington, TX. Amongst the family of micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) devices, thermal actuators are important owing to their capability to deliver a large force and displacement.

Size-Dependent Electro-Thermal Buckling Analysis of Flexoelectric Microbeams

International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2023
This paper studies electro-thermal buckling in a flexoelectric microbeam. This first-of-a-kind study focuses on two case-specific types of buckling in microbeams, which are essential to microstructures. Because of the electric fields and high temperatures in their environments, microbeams are susceptible to electro-thermal buckling more often than ...

Analysis of electro-thermal instability in bipolar transistors

2015 IEEE International Conference on Electron Devices and Solid-State Circuits (EDSSC), 2015
This paper illustrates an analytical method to determine the electro-thermal instability due to self-heating and impact ionization in terms of dissipated power and junction temperature. The analysis is carried out for single transistors (corresponding to silicon and gallium arsenide technologies) as well as for scaled devices to appreciate the use of ...

Electro-thermal analysis of Electric Double-Layer-Capacitors

2008 14th International Workshop on Thermal Inveatigation of ICs and Systems, 2008
Electric double layer capacitors (EDLCs) operate between rechargeable batteries and electrolytic capacitors with respect to energy and power performance. Prediction of internal heating due to discharge and charge current cycles is one of key elements for producing reliable and safe devices with long cycle-life.
