This work shows that tuning solvent polarity and evaporation rate during casting significantly improves the microstructure and dielectric properties of PVDF‐based co‐ and ter‐polymers films. Using highly polar, fast‐evaporating solvents enhances crystallinity, electroactive phase formation, and dielectric performance, offering a simple, energy ...

Electrocaloric effect and freezing temperature in (Pb0.8Ba0.2)[(Zn1∕3Nb2∕3)0.7Ti0.3]O3 relaxor ferroelectric ceramic [PDF]
The electrocaloric effect (ECE) is studied in (Pb0.8Ba0.2)[(Zn1∕3Nb2∕3)0.7Ti0.3]O3 relaxor ferroelectric ceramic by using an “indirect method”. The electric dependence for the polarization (hysteresis loops) has been obtained for several temperatures ...

Anomalous Refractive Index Modulation and Giant Birefringence in 2D Ferrielectric CuInP2S6
An unprecedented anomalous thickness‐dependent change in refractive index is reported in CuInP2S6 (δn$\delta{\rm n}$∼23.2%). Furthermore, CuInP2S6 also exhibits giant birefringence in the blue‐ultraviolet regime (|nOOP ‐ nIP|∼1.24), the largest of any known material within this wavelength regime.

Coexisting Phases in NaNbO3 Thin Films Influenced by Epitaxial Strain and Size Effects
Coherently strained NaNbO3 thin films are synthesized across a range of thicknesses, enabling the study of size effects under epitaxial strain in antiferroelectric thin films without relaxation. Competing antiferroelectric‐ferroelectric phases are observed, leading to the stabilization of phase coexistence, multistate switching with strong retention ...

Optical Control of the Thermal Conductivity in BaTiO3
Light‐driven manipulation of thermal conductivity in archetypal ferroelectric, BaTiO3, offers a novel and effective approach for the dynamical control of the heat flux, with potential applications in thermal management and phonon‐based logic. Abstract Achieving dynamic control over thermal conductivity remains a formidable challenge in condensed matter

Influence of thermal conditions on the electrocaloric effect in a multilayer capacitor based on doped BaTiO3 [PDF]
We present the results of studies of thermal expansion, heat capacity, permittivity, polarization and the influence of different thermal conditions on the intensive electrocaloric effect (ECE), ΔTAD, in a commercial multilayer capacitor based on doped ...

This study showcases the airbrush method, a novel coating technique for the preparation of thin black paint coatings for infrared camera measurements. Using the method, coatings with an emissivity of 0.95, and as thin as 3 µm can be prepared. The method is affordable, non‐destructive, and can be prepared onto a wide range of substrates while ...
