Atropine on the electrocardiogram

Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1969
Six normal volunteers were given graded doses of atropine. Analysis by a computer indicated that R‐T duration, P‐R segment, and R‐R intervals of the electrocardiograms were correlated, whereas the duration of the P wave was not dose related or linked to heart rate.

The electrocardiogram in hyperparathyroidism∗

The American Journal of Cardiology, 1959
Abstract The electrocardiographic changes in a case of hyperparathyroidism, before and after parathy-roidectomy, are illustrated and briefly discussed. The shortened Q-aT interval is confirmed as a readily measured index of shortened systole, characteristic of hypercalcemia.

Syncope and electrocardiogram

Minerva Medica, 2022
Suspected transient loss of consciousness and syncope are common causes of hospitalization in older patients. Arrhythmias are the most common cardiac causes of syncope. Although a number of instrumental diagnostic procedures are usually routinely performed in patients with suspected syncope, a 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) is the only instrumental ...

Electrocardiogram of Pinnipeds

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1972
SUMMARY Electrocardiograms were obtained from 6 pinnipeds, including 2 elephant seals (Mirounga angustirostris), 1 harbor seal (Phoca vitulina), and 3 California sea lions (Zalophus californianus). All had marked sinus arrhythmia with cardioacceleration during inspiration and slowing during expiration and respiratory pauses.

An Unusual Electrocardiogram

Pediatric Cardiology, 2018
A 56-year-old female was hospitalized and her admission ECG differed from previous tracings. Knowledge of variant cardiac anatomy along with awareness of common pitfalls in ECG recording reveals the clinical diagnosis and explains the difference.

The Ischemic Electrocardiogram

Emergency Medicine Clinics of North America, 2022
The electrocardiogram (EKG) is a useful diagnostic tool that allows clinicians to rapidly evaluate patients for acute coronary syndrome. With the high prevalence of heart disease in society, the EKG is crucial in the evaluation of chest pain and diagnosis of ischemia.

FASTING ELECTROCARDIOGRAM

Acta Medica Scandinavica, 1970
Abstract. Three patients are presented with T‐wave inversion after food intake. In all cases the ECG was normal in fasting condition and after exercise. Abnormal T‐waves are found during digitalis treatment, in electrolyte disturbances, and also during anxiety.
