Phenothiazines and the electrocardiogram [PDF]

open access: yesPostgraduate Medical Journal, 1975
Summary Fifty-nine (42%) of 140 schizophrenic patients taking phenothiazines were found to have abnormal electrocardiograms. The abnormalities included T wave changes, S-T depression, P-R and Q-T prolongation, persistent sinus tachycardia (110 or more/min) and right bundle branch block.

A Geometrically Transient Platform for Bioelectronic Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Minimally invasive bioelectronic implants often compromise performance for smaller sizes. To resolve this optimization dilemma, a wireless bioelectronic implant with a transient geometry is introduced (MiFi). The origami‐inspired device miniaturizes up to sixfold for syringe insertion and autonomously unfolds post‐implantation.

Electrocardiogram With a Twist [PDF]

open access: yesCritical Pathways in Cardiology: A Journal of Evidence-Based Medicine, 2012
This report presents a 55-year-old man admitted for respiratory failure, who was found to have a brief run of polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (PVT) with normal QT interval. The importance of differentiating PVT caused by torsades de pointes and PVT with normal QT interval is emphasized.

Conformable Ferrimagnetic Tattoo Electrodes for Plant Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The newly developed ferrimagnetic tattoo electrode is capable of measuring plant electrophysiological activity outside the Faraday cage. Its ability to adhere without damaging the plant tissue allows long‐term recordings. This premise opens new avenues for in‐field monitoring of plant health through electrophysiology.
