Relevance of increased negative T waves in apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with progressive myocardial damage: Insights from repeat cardiac magnetic resonance studies

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
In patients with apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), progressive electrocardiographic changes are observed during long-term follow-up. However, it is difficult to correspond these changes to the specific myocardial changes.

Predicting Anxiety in Children Aged 2–6 During Preoperative Anesthesia Consultation—A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesPediatric Anesthesia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Preoperative Anxiety in Young Children Is Common and Can Lead to Adverse Outcomes. In Clinical Routine, Anesthesiologists Must Often Predict Anxiety Based on Limited Interaction. Aims This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of early anxiety predictions and to identify early predictors of heightened anxiety at anesthesia induction.

Electrocardiography in horses, part 2: how to read the equine ECG [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The equine practitioner is faced with a wide variety of dysrhythmias, of which some are physiological. The recording of an exercise electrocardiogram (ECG) can help distinguish between physiological and pathological dysrhythmias, underlining the ...

Prognostic Value of a Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing‐Derived Summed Score in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Connective Tissue Disease‐Associated Interstitial Lung Disease: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesRespirology, EarlyView.
A cardiopulmonary exercise testing‐derived summed score effectively predicted mortality or lung transplantation risk in newly diagnosed interstitial lung disease. Higher summed scores (2–5) were associated with markedly lower event‐free survival rates.

Analysis of the three-dimensional segmented Poincaré plot for complex coupling analyses of the autonomic regulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Pregnancy is still one of the most delicate stages in a woman’s life, especially in the third world countries. In this project, we propose to characterize and analyse the respiratory and cardiovascular systems using the Poincaré plot.
