THE VALUE OF ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHY
The Lancet, 1948In conclusion, it may be stated that the electrocardiogram is a very valuable instrument to aid in the diagnosis and management of patients with heart disease. Its value depends upon a skilled interpretation of the record as well as a careful and proper correlation of this interpretation with the clinical course of the patient being investigated.

Alternating Wenckebach period (AWP) is a phenomenon that is not rare and can explain a variety of rhythm disorders. It can be recognized from a clinical electrocardiogram (ECG) and may facilitate the interpretation of previously obscure rhythm disturbances, thereby aiding in the management of the patient with arrythmia.

Physics of Electrocardiography
2009If there is any word that strikes fear in the hearts of many students in the health care field, it is “physics.” Much of this fear is unnecessary, at least in relation to the ECG, because a thorough understanding of the physical basis for the ECG provides an important foundation for the understanding and interpretation of ECGs.
