Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Electrochemical Deposition of ZnO Nanostructures. Mechanism of Growth

open access: yesJournal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2010
The growth kinetics of ZnO nanorods were studied by means of an electrochemical deposition process on ITO electrodes submerged in an aqueous solution of 5 mM ZCl+0.1 M KCl at 80 degrees C. The stages of the growth kinetics showed a mechanism of formation of nano-spheres which with time were transformed into hexagonal crystals of ZnO.

Liquid Phase Transmission Electron Microscopy: A Window into the Early Stages of Complex Material Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid‐phase transmission electron microscopy enables direct observation of nucleation and growth processes in solution. This review is dedicated to the remembrance of Helmut Cölfen and highlights recent studies on complex materials—oxides, biominerals, organic–inorganic crystals—which were central to his research activity. It summarizes key milestones,

Electrochemical deposition and characterization of Zn-Fe alloys

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2004
Zn?Fe alloy electrochemically deposited on steel under various deposition conditions were investigated using anodic linear sweep voltammetry (ALSV) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis for phase structure determination, energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis for determination of chemical composition and polarization measurements and open circuit ...

Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

Tissue‐Stimulator Platform for Electrically Stimulating Pancreatic β‐Cells for Long‐Term Functional Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.

Thermally Engineered Sodium‐Embedded Alumina with Programmable Synaptic Plasticity for Neuromorphic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fully transparent, all‐metal‐oxide neuromorphic transistor using a sodium‐embedded alumina (SEA) electrolyte is demonstrated. By precisely tuning the thermal annealing process, the chemical composition of the SEA layer is controlled, allowing for the deterministic realization of both short‐term and long‐term synaptic plasticity within the same device

Fast Charge–Discharge of LiNi0.9Co0.05Mn0.05 Enabled by a Bikitaite‐Infused Separator for Li Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bikitaite‐infused cellulose separator is introduced for Li metal batteries, leveraging bikitaite zeolite's ion‐conductive properties to regulate Li+‐ion flux and suppress dendrite growth. The membrane design ensures uniform Li plating, enhanced electrolyte wettability, and robust thermal/mechanical stability, delivering stable performance and low ...
