The electrochemical charge-discharge properties of ZrCrNi hydrogen storage alloys
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 1995Abstract Zr(Cr x Ni 1− x ) 2 (0.15 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.65) alloys were prepared by arc melting in an argon atmosphere. Through X-ray diffraction, the main crystal structure of the alloys was found to change from Laves phase cubic C15 to hexagonal C14 as the Cr to Ni ratio increased, and lattice parameters and hydrogen absorption capacities were mainly ...

Can Electrochemical Charging Replace Hydrogen Gas Charging During Hydrogen Embrittlement Testing?
CONFERENCE 2024Abstract This paper presents the output from a study with the aim to correlate hydrogen gas charging and electrochemical charging for a X65 pipeline steel. The hydrogen uptake and diffusivity were evaluated via the permeation technique by employing both hydrogen gas charging and electrochemical charging.

Electrochemical hydrogen permeation tests were carried out under potentiostatic hydrogen charging conditions in various solutions, and the hydrogen entry behavior was compared with that of galvanostatic method. The relationship between hydrogen permeation current density and potential was similar in potentiostatic and galvanostatic methods and wide ...

A dilatometric study of nickel wire electrode electrochemically charged by hydrogen
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 1996Abstract The cathodic charging of nickel with hydrogen was studied with simultaneous measurements of dimensional variations within the solubility region. Relative dimensional changes as low as 3 × 10 −6 could be detected which makes this measuring combination sensitive and powerful in studying the behavior of metal hydrogen systems, particularly in ...

Hydride dissociation and hydrogen evolution behavior of electrochemically charged pure titanium
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 1995Abstract A commercially pure α-titanium was electrochemically charged with hydrogen in a 5% H2SO4 solution at a current density of 5 kA m−2 for 14.4 ks (4 h), and the dissociation process of the electrochemically formed hydride and the evolution behavior of hydrogen from the samples were investigated by means of high temperature X-ray diffractometry,

Hemispherical bubbles growth on electrochemically charged aluminum with hydrogen
International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2007The formation of surface bubbles (blisters) in aluminum during electrochemical charging by hydrogen was studied. The experiments reveal that, in aluminum samples, a wide distribution of hydrogen bubbles on the surface (blisters) was produced during electrochemical charging.

Abstract A high temperature electrochemical charging technique was developed for effective introduction of hydrogen or tritium into the metallic materials to a high level in a short period of time. The samples of the steels and alloys, as the cathode, were charged in an electrochemical cell consists of Pt anode and molten salt electrolyte. After 3, 6
