Coordinated Multi‐Component Gradient Engineering of Catalyst Layers for Advanced Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a continuous linear gradient catalyst layer design, a general strategy for improving membrane electrode assemblies across electrochemical devices. Fabricated via a dual‐nozzle spray coating method, the architecture controls the Pt/carbon ratio, ionomer content and ionomer type across the catalyst layer, enhancing proton conduction ...

Inhibition of Ce3+ on Stress Corrosion Crack of High Strength Aluminum Alloy

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2017
The stress corrosion cracking (SCC) susceptibility of 7A04 high strength aluminum alloy in 3.5% (mass fraction) NaCl solution and the Ce3+ inhibition of SCC were investigated by slow stress rate test(SSRT), using constant current polarization ...

Laser‐Based Sculpturing of Embedded Ultrathin Metal‐Oxide Nanopores for Enhanced Biomolecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled laser‐drilling of embedded HfO2 membranes creates three layer nanopores with Gaussian‐shaped cavities sculptured in the supporting layers. These embedded solid‐state nanopores slow DNA translocation by 12‐fold compared to SiNx pores, enabling high‐resolution, label‐free detection of short DNAs, RNAs, and proteins.

Use of Electrochemical Noise Measurements for Determining the Rate of Corrosion and the Surfactant Aggregate Transition Concentration at the Mild Steel–Liquid Interface

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2004
Corrosion events such as uniform corrosion, localized corrosion and hydrogen evolution at metal–liquid interfaces can be monitored by a combination of electrochemical noise and corrosion inhibition measurements.

‘Oxygen Bound to Magnesium’ as High Voltage Redox Center Causes Sloping of the Potential Profile in Mg‐Doped Layered Oxides for Na‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Na‐ion batteries ‐ Impact of doping on the oxygen redox: The sloping potential of NaMg0.1Ni0.4Mn0.5O2 above 4.0 V is caused by a new redox center (arising from the ‘O bound to Mg’), having a higher potential but being more irreversible compared to the ‘O bound to Ni’.

Nanoscale Electrodes by Conducting Atomic Force Microscopy: Oxygen Reduction Kinetics at the Pt|CsHSO_4 Interface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We quantitatively characterized oxygen reduction kinetics at the nanoscale Pt|CsHSO_4 interface at ~150 °C in humidified air using conducting atomic force microscopy (AFM) in conjunction with AC impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry.

Real-time detection of single electron tunneling using a quantum point contact

open access: yes, 2004
We observe individual tunnel events of a single electron between a quantum dot and a reservoir, using a nearby quantum point contact (QPC) as a charge meter.

Single Solid‐State Ion Channels as Potentiometric Nanosensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Single gold nanopores functionalized with mixed self‐assembled monolayers act as solid‐state ion channels for direct, selective potentiometric sensing of inorganic ions (Ag⁺). The design overcomes key miniaturization barriers of conventional ion‐selective electrodes by combining low resistivity with suppressed loss of active components, enabling robust
