Electrochemical studies of porphyrin-appended dendrimers

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2006
The electrochemical properties of porphyrin-appended dendrimers containing 2-, 4-, 8-, 16-, 32- and 64-porphyrin macrocycles in their free-base and zinc(II) forms have been investigated. Both series gave diffusional based voltammetric responses in dichloromethane. There was minimal effect of dendrimer generation on the redox potentials.

Optically Coupled Electrochemical Studies

Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1973
AbstractIn recent years optical methods have been extensively applied to assist in the elucidation studies of electrochemically induced phenomena. The objectives of these studies have been: (i) the characterization of the surface and electronic states of conducting and semiconducting materials; (ii) the in situ detection, characterization and kinetic ...

Electrochemical study of DNA-anthracyclines interaction

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1978
Abstract Binding isotherms of some anthracyclic derivatives with DNA have been determined by modern electrochemical techniques(Voltammetry - ac polarography). These techniques making use of the difference between the diffusion coefficients of DNA-drug complex and of free molecules of drug in solution allow the direct determination of the later ones ...

Comparative electrochemical study of superoxide reductases

European Biophysics Journal, 2011
Superoxide reductases are involved in relevant biological electron transfer reactions related to protection against oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen species. The electrochemical features of metalloproteins belonging to the three different classes of enzymes were studied by potentio-dynamic techniques (cyclic and square wave voltammetry ...

Electrochemical Studies of Corrphycenes and Metallocorrphycenes

Inorganic Chemistry, 2000
Corrphycene 3 (Cn) is a structural isomer of porphyrin 1 that was synthesized for the first time 5 years ago. This paper reports on the redox properties of free-base octaethylcorrphycene H2OECn and 16 metal complexes derived therefrom. In CH2Cl2 solution, the free base and the metallo(II) octaethylcorrphycenes, M(II)OECn, typically undergo four ...

Electrochemical Study of a Polarized Electrochemical Vapor Deposition Process

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 2000
The interfacing of modern vapor deposition technology and solid-state ionic technology has led to the recent development of polarized electrochemical vapor deposition (PEVD). Due to the unique electrocrystallization behavior of its products and easy process control through a solid electrochemical cell, PEVD holds promise for a wide range of potential ...

Electrochemical Study of the Maillard Reaction

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2003
Electrochemical properties of beta-alanine/carbohydrate Maillard reaction products were measured using a combination platinum/Ag-AgCl (Cl(-)) redox electrode. Changes toward more negative voltages were observed, which were consistent with reductone formation during the course of the Maillard reaction. Using voltage change as a guide, the propensity for

Electrochemical study of pyrrhotite

2011
The rest potential of sulphide electrodes was examined from both thermodynamic and kinetic aspects. The kinetic aspect has been found to be necessary for the interpretation of the establishment of the mixed potential in polyelectrode system, to which most sulphide systems belong.

Electrochemical studies on lead iodide

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1978
Abstract The total d.c. electrical conductivity of undoped PbI2 was measured as a function of iodine potential in the region 150–300°C to determine the nature of charge carriers in PbI2. Results indicate that PbI2 is an ionic conductor with electron holes as the minority carriers in this temperature range.
