Effect of EDOT contribution on the electrochromic and capacitive properties of edot-carbazole based electrochromic polymer: Electrochromic and supercapacitor device applications

Electrochimica Acta
3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) based donor-acceptor-donor (DAD) type conjugated polymers generally have extraordinary electrochromic properties due to the excellent nature of the EDOT unit. This work investigates the electrochromic properties of such a system; EDOT-Carbazole-EDOT (ECE) based DAD type of conjugated polymer.

Polymer effect in electrochromic behavior of oligomeric viologens

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1979
AbstractA series of oligomeric viologens were synthesized in order to investigate the polymer effect in electrochromic behavior of viologen compounds. These materials have a lower first‐step reduction potential and a higher second‐step reduction potential compared with monomeric viologens. As a result, they have wider potential separation, where stable

Crystallinity Effects in the Optical Modulation of Electrochromic Devices

MRS Proceedings, 1995
AbstractThe electrochromic switching behavior of amorphous and crystalline WO3 thin films was investigated. The films were deposited on ITO-coated Corning 7059 glass substrates by sputtering. X-ray diffraction showed the crystalline film to have a mixed monoclinic/orthorhombic crystal structure.

The Influence of Terminal Effect on the Performance of Electrochromic Windows

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1990
A simple theory of potential and current distributions developed elsewhere, based on the parallel-plate electrochemical cell under linear kinetics, is applied to electrochromic windows. In our case, only the working electrode has appreciable resistance.

The electrochromic effect in cobalt oxide thin films

Advanced Materials, 1991
Communication: Anodic electroprecipitation has been used to deposit thin films of cobalt oxide onto transparent, conducting glass substrates. The electrochromic effect, a reversible color change promoted by an electrochemical reaction, is demonstrated in the films making them of interest, as with WO3, V2O5 and other transition‐metal oxides, for ...

Photoinduced electrochromic effect and its applications to displays

Applied Physics Letters, 1976
A liquid solution of an organic donor of the pyrazoline class in a halogenated solvent placed between two transparent electrodes shows blue-color-generating electrochromism whose coloring intensity can be controlled by external illumination. The effect seems to be applicable to optically addressable direct-view passive displays.

Green to highly transmissive switching multicolored electrochromes: Ferrocene pendant group effect on electrochromic properties

Reactive and Functional Polymers, 2011
Abstract Two new quinoxaline and ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) based polymers; poly(5,8-bis(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-2-(phenyll)-3-ferrocenylquinoxaline) ( P1 ) and poly(5,8-bis(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-2,3-di(naphthalen-2-yl) quinoxaline) ( P2 ) were synthesized and characterized in terms of their electrochemical ...

The effects of coloured base fabric on electrochromic textile

Coloration Technology, 2011
The colour of electrochromic fabric, and its colour transitions, was explored on the basis of variations in underlying fabric colour. A complete understanding of this phenomenon is essential for the fabric’s use in full-colour wearable displays or other applications. Previous work in this area utilised only white-coloured starting materials.

Electrochemistry of polyaniline: Study of the pH effect and electrochromism

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2001
AbstractPolyaniline was electrochemically synthesized from an aqueous medium with various acid electrolytes via potentiodynamic and potentiostatic techniques. The electrochemical synthesis of polyaniline was studied over various substrates, including Pt, Ti, Ni, and SnO2 coated glass, and in various acid electrolytes.

Electroresponsive Structurally Colored Materials: A Combination of Structural and Electrochromic Effects

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2016
AbstractElectroresponsive structurally colored materials composed of ordered arrays of polyaniline@poly(methyl methacrylate) (PANI@PMMA) core–shell nanoparticles have been successfully prepared. The core–shell nanoparticles were synthesized by deposition of PANI shells on the surfaces of the PMMA cores by the oxidative polymerization of anilinium ...
