Surface Electroconvection

The Physics of Fluids, 1961
An electric field can produce steady cellular motions in the interface region of two immiscible semiconducting fluids. The theory of this instability is explored. The characteristic parameter is found to depend upon the difference in conductivity of the fluids and the curvature of the interface.
