Triple Diffusive Convection in a Fluid Layer Under an A.C Electric Field
The effect of an imposed alternating current (A.C) electric field on the onset of convective instability in a horizontal triply diffusive fluid layer is investigated. Analytical solutions are obtained for steady and oscillatory onset when imposed gradients of the stratifying agencies are constant and vertical.

This article proposes a 3D mathematical model of the influence of electrical heterogeneity of the ion exchange membrane surface on the processes of salt ion transfer in membrane systems with axial symmetry; in particular, we investigate an annular ...

Electrically driven convection in a thin annular film undergoing circular Couette flow
We investigate the linear stability of a thin, suspended, annular film of conducting fluid with a voltage difference applied between its inner and outer edges. For a sufficiently large voltage, such a film is unstable to radially-driven electroconvection

Distribution of Injected Power Fluctuations in Electroconvection [PDF]
We report on the distribution spectra of the fluctations in the amount of power injected into a liquid crystal undergoing electroconvective flow. The probability distribution functions (PDFs) of the fluctuations as well as the magnitude of the fluctuations have been determined in a wide range of imposed stress both for `unconfined' and `confined' flow ...

Weakly Nonlinear Analysis of Electroconvection in a Suspended Fluid Film
It has been experimentally observed that weakly conducting suspended films of smectic liquid crystals undergo electroconvection when subjected to a large enough potential difference.

Nonstandard electroconvection in a bent-core oxadiazole material [PDF]
Electroconvection (EC) phenomena have been investigated in the nematic phase of a bent-core oxadiazole material with negative dielectric anisotropy and a frequency dependent conductivity anisotropy. The formation of longitudinal roll (LR) patterns is one

Surfactant-Switched Positive/Negative Electrorheological Effect in Tungsten Oxide Suspensions
The electrorheological (ER) effect was experimentally observed in dielectric suspensions containing tungsten oxide (WO3) modified with surfactant molecules (sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and dodecylamine (DDA)) in electric fields up to several kilovolts ...

This study introduces a new bimetallic cation‐enhanced gel‐polymer electrolyte (Ni/Zn‐GPE) to address the problem of restricted ionic conductivity in subzero temperatures and dendrite formation with side reactions in zinc‐ion batteries, and demonstrates the introduction of Ni2+ can confine the orientated nucleation and growth of Zn (002) crystal plane.
