Progress and Perspectives of Conducting Metal–Organic Frameworks for Electrochemical Energy Storage and Conversion

open access: yesChemistry, 2023
The metal–organic framework (MOF) is a kind of porous material with lattice materials. Due to its large surface area and structural diversity, it has made great progress in the fields of batteries, capacitors, electrocatalysis, etc. Conductive MOF (c-MOF)

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Quantum Chemical Analysis of the Correlation between Electrode Potential and Redox Center of Li‐Insertion Materials: Olivine, Layered and Spinel Structures, and Aqua‐Complexes

open access: yesChemElectroChem, 2023
Li‐insertion materials employed as electrode materials in Li‐ion batteries undergo solid‐state redox reactions wherein ions within a solid matrix are oxidized and reduced, in contrast to the conventional redox reactions of ions in solution.

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Geometrically asymmetric electrodes for probing electrochemical reaction kinetics: a case study of hydrogen at the Pt–CsH_2PO_4 interface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Electrochemical reactions can exhibit considerable asymmetry, with the polarization behavior of oxidation at a given metal|electrolyte interface differing substantially from that of reduction. The reference-less, microcontact electrode geometry, in which

Study of glass properties as electrode for RPC

open access: yes, 2016
Operation and performance of the Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) mostly depend on the quality and characteristics of the electrode materials. The India-based Neutrino Observatory collaboration has chosen glass RPCs as the active detector elements for its

Reduction of Oxide Inclusions During the High‐Frequency Welding of Steel via a Nonthermal Ar/H2 Plasma Jet

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...
