Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Fatigue Crack Initiation and Growth in Nanocrystalline Ni at Multiple Length‐Scales

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Overview of miniaturized in situ SEM fatigue setup and resultant fatigue crack growth data for nanocrystalline Ni. The presented study focuses on the analysis of fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) in focused ion beam‐notched microcantilevers prepared from nanocrystalline (NC) Ni as a model material.

Design and Construction of Cu(OH)2/Ni3S2 Composite Electrode on Cu Foam by Two-Step Electrodeposition

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
A Cu(OH)2/Ni3S2 composite has been designed and in situ constructed on Cu foam substrate by facile two-step electrodeposition. Cu(OH)2 is achieved on Cu foam by galvanostatic electrodeposition, and the subsequent coating of Ni3S2 is realized by cyclic ...

Machine Learning‐Supported Analysis for Predicting and Visualizing Nonlinear Relationships Between Material Properties in Electroplated Chromium Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Study of liquid-phase mass transfer and residual stress in jet electrodeposition process with coaxial megasonic agitation

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry
The electrodeposition process confronts significant challenges arising from mass transfer limitation and residual stress. To address these issues, an innovative method, combining megasonic agitation with coaxial jet electrodeposition, is introduced. This

A Study of Cu‐Rh Electrodeposition**

open access: yesChemElectroChem, 2022
Abstract This manuscript reports the simultaneous electrodeposition of Cu and Rh from an aqueous nitrate solution. The early stages of nucleation and growth of the bimetallic layer were explored using techniques such as cyclic voltammetry and current transients.

Tuning Separator Chemistry: Improving Zn Anode Compatibility via Functionalized Chitin Nanofibers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanochitin derived from waste shrimp shells is used to fabricate separators for aqueous zinc batteries. By tuning the density of amine and carboxylic surface groups, water mobility at the separator interface is controlled, promoting uniform zinc deposition, suppressing dendrite growth, and enabling exceptional cycling stability exceeding 2000 h ...
