Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.

Electrodeposition of Nano-crystalline Nickel-Molybdenum Alloys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
application/pdfNano-crystalline nickel-molybdenum alloys were electrochemically synthesized from aqueous solution. With increasing molybdenum content in the alloy up to 23.6%, the crystal grain size decreased down to several nanometers scale.

Monitoring cuprous ion transport by scanning electrochemical microscopy during the course of copper electrodeposition

open access: yes, 2008
Scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM), in the substrate generation–tip collection (SG-TC) mode, has been used to detect the cuprous ion intermediate formed during the course of electrodeposition of Cu metal from aqueous solution.

3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Resonant Domain Wall Dynamics in a Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Nano Double Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D magnetic nanostructures promise exciting possibilities for magnetization dynamics. However, experimental realizations remain scarce. In nanoprinted cobalt double helices, time‐resolved X‐ray microscopy reveals harmonic domain wall dynamics. Simulations identify the mode and additional higher‐frequency resonances, revealing a rich dynamic landscape ...
