Hyperthermia with implanted electrodes
Medical Physics, 1981A general solution is given for the steady state form of the heat conduction equation applied to a simple tumor model which is imagined as being heated by means of electrical currents flowing between metallic electrodes. The model assumes a homogeneous tumor with no bloodflow.

Experience with implanted electrodes
Neurosurgery, 1977Implant units, manufactured by Medtronic, Inc., have been implanted in 31 patients for treatment of drop-foot. The principal problem encountered in this series was inflammatory reaction. This was observed in seven patients, and was serious enough in five to require removal of the implant.

Current Opinion in Electrochemistry, 2017
Implantable electrodes have been of interest for decades. We have witnessed important advances in the field of bionics wherein implantable electrodes serve as the conduit to record nerve signals and deliver electrical stimulation to tissues and organs in living systems.

Electrode Implantation and Stimulation in the Hippocampus
Archives of Neurology, 1976To the Editor.— Dr Salcman (Arch Neurol33:215, 1976) commented on our article (Arch Neurol32:98, 1975) describing the response of enzymes important to brain metabolism after electrode implantation and electrical current application in the hippocampus.

Electrode Migration in Patients with Perimodiolar Cochlear Implant Electrodes
Audiology and Neurotology, 2015Migration of a cochlear implant electrode is a hitherto uncommon complication. So far, array migration has only been observed in lateral wall electrodes. Between 1999 and 2014, a total of 27 patients received bilateral perimodiolar electrode arrays at our institution.
