Electrodynamics

2018
Electric charges interact via the electric and magnetic fields they produce. Electrodynamics is the study of the laws governing these interactions. The phenomena of electricity and of magnetism were once taken to constitute separate subjects. By the beginning of the nineteenth century they were recognized as closely related topics and by the end of ...

Elementary Electrodynamics

Technology and Health Care, 2009
The paper describes the physical phenomena involved in the conduction of electricity, with particular reference to living tissue. The conduction of electricity depends on the flow of charge carriers in the material, while the dielectric properties are due to the rotation of dipoles that can align along an applied electric field.

Substorm Electrodynamics

Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 1990
The electrodynamics of a substorm are analyzed using a crude one‐dimensional model. The discussion starts from the “standard interpretation“ scenario in which the plasma sheet collapses into a neutral sheet and magnetic merging occurs between the two tail lobes.
