Detailed Analysis of Airflow Generated by High Voltage on a Point-Tube Electrode Geometry

open access: yesFluids, 2023
This paper is focused on the research of airflow generating through the use of high-voltage electrohydrodynamic devices. For this purpose, the authors built several electrohydrodynamic airflow generators with one point electrode and one tube electrode of

The onset of electrohydrodynamic instability of an elastico-viscous Walters' (model B') dielectric fluid layer [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions, 2015
In this paper we investigate the effect of AC electric field on the onset of instability of an elastico-viscous Walters' (model B') dielectric fluid layer stimulated by the dielectrophoretic force due to the variation of dielectric constant with ...

Unveiling the spectrum of electrohydrodynamic turbulence in dust storms

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Electrohydrodynamic features of dust storm turbulence have puzzled scientists for over a hundred years. Here, the authors reveal the characteristics of the multifield spectra in dust storms using a combined observational and theoretical approach.

A Brief Review on the Electrohydrodynamic Techniques Used to Build Antioxidant Delivery Systems from Natural Sources

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Extracts from plants have been one of the main sources of antioxidants, namely polyphenols. The associated drawbacks, such as instability against environmental factors, low bioavailability, and loss of activity, must be considered during ...

Electrogravitational Oscillating Stability of Double streaming Fluids Cylinder [PDF]

open access: yesMSA Engineering Journal
The problem of stability for two flowing fluids moving in an electrogravitational oscillating cylinder is presented. This type of research may be found to examine the interaction of a distinct self-gravitating, dielectric fluid, with densities ρ^e, with ...

Bioinspired Adaptive Surfaces for Intelligent Liquid Manipulation: Progressing From Passive and Active to Hybrid Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines passive, active, and hybrid liquid manipulation strategies, highlighting hybrid approaches as an emerging route to reconcile energy efficiency with adaptive control. By actively reconstructing passive surfaces to store programmable interfacial energy, hybrid systems enable flexible yet low‐power liquid transport, with perspectives ...

Multi‐Stimuli Responsive Angstrom‐Scale Two‐Dimensional Channels of Natural Layered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Å‐scale ion channels naturally formed within the interlayers of vermiculite clay enable ionic current modulation in response to mechanical, chemical, and electrical stimuli. Coupled pressure and electric fields induce reversible streaming current (Istream) polarity inversion, which is explained by a modified surface charge regulation model.
