Decoupling Li+ Transport in Self‐Healing Polymer Dual‐Salt Electrolytes for Room Temperature Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐healable polymer matrix, crosslinked via dynamic imine bonds, is synergistically coupled with a LiPF6–LiDFOB dual‐salt system to decouple Li+ from the polymer matrix, enabling fast Li+ transport. This strategy offers an effective pathway toward high‐performance, next‐generation gel‐polymer‐based Li‐metal batteries.

The Effect of Green Laser Irradiation on Photoelectrolysis

open access: yes, 2015
Electrolysis uses a voltage to drive a reaction that yields hydrogen from the water contained in an Epsom salt solution. Advocates of the "hydrogen economy" have discussed hydrogen production as a potential medium of energy storage- electrical power ...

Mechanistic Origins of Chemo‐Mechanical Instability and Failure in Solid‐State Lithium‐Sulfur Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conversion‐induced sulfur expansion generates strong mechanical constraints and localized stresses within solid‐state Li‐S cathodes. Heterogeneous solid‐electrolyte confinement creates tensile strain‐energy hotspots that govern particle cracking. Larger sulfur particles accelerate fracture, while higher porosity relaxes constraint and delays damage ...

Role of Structural Disorder on Phonon Transport and Thermal Conductivity in Li6PS5Br

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solid electrolytes are fast ion and slow heat conductors. Although both transport properties are governed by lattice dynamics and atomic structure, their interplay remains poorly understood. Here, we study this interrelation in anion‐ordered and disordered Li6PS5Br.

Magneto‐Ionic Devices With Polymer‐Based Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer electrolytes are introduced for magneto‐ionic devices based on hydroxide and hydrogen ions. The magneto‐ionic effect results in a pronounced voltage‐controlled variation of coercivity in both devices. The switching speed is in the range of 100 ms.

Oxygen Evolution Electrocatalysts with Trinuclear, Mixed‐Valence Iron Motifs on Electronically Aligned Carbon Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Trinuclear iron oxo‐bridged catalytic ensembles stabilized by aspartic‐acid‐derived carbon dots provide an effective platform for alkaline oxygen evolution. Mixed‐valence charge balancing, inner‐sphere charge transport, and work‐function alignment within the N/O‐rich carbon framework promote cooperative Fe‐site chemistry and efficient OER ...

Techno-economic analysis of ethanol/methanol oxidation in hybrid water electrolysis

open access: yes
embargoed_20281201Hydrogen production via water electrolysis is limited by high electricity demand because of high ohmic and kinetic resistances, which motivates the development of hybrid processes that replace the anodic reaction with one that ...
