Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

The particle size distribution (PSD) as criteria for comparison of silver powders obtained by different methods of synthesis and by conditions of electrolysis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mining and Metallurgy. Section B: Metallurgy, 2018
Silver powders produced by both electrochemical (galvanostatic (DC) and potentiostatic (POT) regimes of electrolysis) and chemical processes were examined by scanning electron microscope, and particle size distribution (PSD) of the obtained particles was

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Hydrogen Environmental Benefits Depend on the Way of Production: An Overview of the Main Processes Production and Challenges by 2050

open access: yesAdvanced Energy & Sustainability Research, 2021
Hydrogen (H2) is presented as an important alternative for clean energy and raw material in the modern world. However, the environmental benefits are linked to its process of production.

Electrolysis and Co-Electrolysis Performance of SOE Short Stacks [PDF]

open access: yes
In this study, two short SOE stacks (6-cells) were characterized in steam-electrolysis mode. The first was based on Ni-YSZ supported cells with LSCF-based air electrodes.

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Development of Recycling Process for Copper-Gallium Target

open access: yesJournal of MMIJ, 2018
Gallium is used as a raw material for a CIGS solar cell. In the manufacturing process of CIGS solar cells, only 30% of the target material is used, and the rest is not used and becomes a spent target scrap.

Combination of Electro- and Radiochemical Processes for Hydrogen and Oxygen Obtaining

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering, 2023
It is shown that increase in the hydrogen production process efficiency can be ensured by integrating radiochemical and electrochemical processes. In this case, the obtained effect depends not only on the direct radiolysis of water, but also on the ...
