From conventional membrane electrodes to ion-sensitive field-effect transistors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
The theory concerning conventional membrane electrodes is often used as a starting point for the theoretical description of the operation of an ion-sensitive field-effect transistor.

Optofluidic Raman Analysis and Capacity Recovery in Li‐ion Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Operando Raman spectroscopy is used to monitor the degradation of commercial Li‐ion cells. Using a microfluidic access port, small amounts of electrolyte are sampled into a hollow‐core optical fibre, where fibre‐enhanced Raman analysis reveals Li+ solvation changes and solvent evolution.

Chlorophyll fluorescence imaging accurately quantifies freezing damage and cold acclimation responses in Arabidopsis leaves

open access: yesPlant Methods, 2008
Background Freezing tolerance is an important factor in the geographical distribution of plants and strongly influences crop yield. Many plants increase their freezing tolerance during exposure to low, nonfreezing temperatures in a process termed cold ...

Determination of Oxygen Nonstoichiometry and Diffusivity in Mixed Conducting Oxides by Oxygen Coulometric Titration. II Oxygen Nonstoichiometry and Defect Model for La0.8Sr0.2CoO3-delta [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The oxygen nonstoichiometry of La0.8Sr0.2CoO3-delta has been determined as a function of oxygen partial pressure and temperature using a high-temperature coulometric titration cell.

Seed vigor, aging, and osmopriming affect anion and sugar leakage during imbition of maize (Zea mays L.) caryopses [PDF]

open access: yes
Conductivity was significantly increased by aging and decreased by osmopriming of maize (Zea mays L.) caryopses. Chloride, phosphate, and sulfate were the main anions that leaked out of maize seeds; their leakage was closely related to conductivity ...
