Spatially Selective Solvation Chemistry by Local Charge Enrichment for Stable Potassium‐Metal Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A MoC/NC functional intermediate medium preferentially interacts with KFSI to reconstruct the interfacial solvation structure and form a KF‐rich inorganic SEI. The synergistic integration of the electronically insulating SEI and MoC/NC suppresses electron tunneling, enables fast and balanced K+/electron transport, and promotes uniform K deposition for ...

Advanced Regenerative Environmental Control and Life Support Systems: Air and Water Regeneration [PDF]

open access: yes
Extended manned space missions will require regenerative life support techniques. Past manned missions used nonregenerative expendables, except for a molecular sieve based carbon dioxide removal system aboard Skylab.

Microstructure Optimization of Na3SbS4/Na3Zr2Si2PO12 Composite Solid Electrolytes for Improving Cycling Stability in All‐Solid‐State Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This research demonstrates that incorporating 10 wt.% NASICON‐type Na3Zr2Si2PO12 into Na3SbS4 sulfide electrolytes mitigates interfacial instability and structural defects. The resulting composite enhances ionic conductivity to 3.97 * 10−4 S cm−1 and reduces activation energy.

Wireless, Adaptable and Fully Implantable Battery‐powered Devices for Optical Stimulation of the Spinal Cord in Small Rodents

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current technologies for spinal cord optogenetic stimulation rely on external power sources and face reliability constraints in freely behaving animals. Here, a fully implantable, battery‐powered optoelectronic device is introduced, enabling operation in any selected environment with wireless recharging for months‐long stimulation.

Independent Orbiter Assessment (IOA): Analysis of the electrical power generation/fuel cell powerplant subsystem [PDF]

open access: yes
Results of the Independent Orbiter Assessment (IOA) of the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Critical Items List (CIL) are presented. The IOA approach features a top-down analysis of the hardware to determine failure modes, criticality, and ...

Electrochemically Induced Interphase by Complex Hydride Anions in Argyrodite Solid Electrolytes for Stable Lithium Metal All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Complex hydride anion substitution in argyrodite electrolytes has attracted attention for improving interfacial stability, yet the influence of these anions at Li metal interfaces remains unclear. This work shows that electrochemically formed BH4−‐derived interphases enable stable high‐current full‐cell cycling.

Natural Resistance to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome in Estrildid Finches Reveals Macrophage GPR183 as a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.
