New ASPN High Efficiency Treatment of ASTM M2 Steel [PDF]
Plasma nitriding treatments are applied to achieve excellent surface properties on steel parts and tools. Active screen plasma nitriding (ASPN) does not have the defects presents in direct nitriding plasma treatments (DCPN).

Improved electromagnetic bias theory: Inclusion of hydrodynamic modulations [PDF]
The modulation of short ocean waves by longer ones is a likely contributor to the radar altimeter's electromagnetic ranging bias (EM bias). An analytic model to account for this component of the EM bias is developed here under a two‐scale two‐dimensional hydrodynamic assumption.

Dirac-Based Quantum Admittance of 2D Nanomaterials at Radio Frequencies
Starting from a rigorous finite mass, Dirac equation-based model, we investigate the R.F. quantum admittance of a monolayer 2D material under the action of an electromagnetic (e.m.) wave with axially directed vector potential.

Signatures of the Higgs mode in transport through a normal-metal–superconductor junction
A superconductor subject to electromagnetic irradiation in the terahertz range can show amplitude oscillations of its order parameter. However, coupling this so-called Higgs mode to the charge current is notoriously difficult.

Analysis of transformer bias vibration based on "magnetic-mechanical" coupling
The large-scale application of flexible DC power transmission technology leads to DC bias in transformer cores, and the vibration analysis of transformers under the influence of DC bias is becoming a hot topic.

Effects of metallic system components on marine electromagnetic loop data [PDF]
Electromagnetic loop systems rely on the use of non‐conductive materials near the sensor to minimize bias effects superimposed on measured data. For marine sensors, rigidity, compactness, and ease of platform handling are essential.
