High vacuum compatible fiber feedthrough for hot alkali vapor cells [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Optics Vol. 56, Issue 5, pp. 1546-1549 (2017), 2017
We demonstrate a method to produce vacuum tight, metal free, bakeable and alkali compatible feedthroughs for optical fibers. The manufacturing process mainly relies on encasing fibers made of fused silica with glass materials with lower melting points by heating.

Air plasma key parameters for electromagnetic wave propagation at and out of thermal equilibrium: applications to electromagnetic compatibility [PDF]

open access: yesACES Journal, 2018, 2019
This article addresses the importance of accurate characterization of plasma parameters for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) purposes. Most of EMC issues involving plasma materials are obviously multi-physics problems (linking chemical, mechanical, thermal and electromagnetic wondering) with deep interactions.

Enhanced Terahertz Spectroscopy of a Monolayer Transition Metal Dichalcogenide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An ad‐hoc engineered metallic surface is employed to perform enhanced terahertz spectroscopy of a monolayer transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD). Thanks to a local absorption boost of 104, this technique allows for the extraction of the phonon resonance features and effective permittivity of the 2D material, paving the way for the rational design of ...
