A Global Methane Observation System to Reduce Uncertainty for Anthropogenic and Natural Sources and Sinks for Detecting and Attributing Climate Feedbacks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conceptual illustration of a Global Ecosystem Methane Observing System (GEM‐OS) integrating satellites, aircraft, atmospheric networks, and ecosystem measurements to quantify methane emissions from anthropogenic and natural sources. The multi‐scale observing framework improves source attribution, reduces uncertainty in regional methane budgets, and ...

From Flow to Function: Using Different Static Mixers to Fabricate Microarchitected Materials Via Chaotic Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Complex microarchitectures emerge from simple flow‐driven transformations as static mixers iteratively reorient and split material domains. Coupled with diverse deposition strategies, chaotic printing provides an accessible platform for fabricating architected materials that support biologically and chemically relevant processes. ABSTRACT Nature builds

Effect of solid rotor slit dimensions on electromagnetical and mechanical properties of induction machine

2020 IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering and 2020 IEEE Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Europe (EEEIC / I&CPS Europe), 2020
The rotor under study is intended for an induction machine with output power 3 kW and speed 180 000 rpm. In this article, properties of the rotor are considered from both mechanical and electromagnetic point of view. This paper shows the influence of rotor slit dimensions on machine performance and mechanical durability of the solid rotor of the ...

Refining FE Structural Mechanics Simulations of a Railgun by Taking Into Account Electromagnetic Effects

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2018
Modeling of the structural behavior of the housing of an electromagnetic railgun is usually carried out without considering the electromagnetic origin of the forces; the magnetic pressure acting on the rails is assumed to act at the rail surfaces only ...

The effect of solid fraction and indirect forging pressure on mechanical properties of wrought aluminum alloy fabricated by electromagnetic stirring

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2008
This study demonstrated the effect of solid fraction and forging pressure on mechanical properties of the product of wrought aluminum alloys fabricated by the indirect rheoforging through electromagnetic stirring (EMS). In addition to EMS, the rheological material was examined for its response to various pouring temperatures as the rheo-material was ...

Effects of Electromagnetic Stirring Frequency on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Al-7Si-0.42 Mg-0.1Cu Alloy by Semi-Solid Processing

Materials Science Forum, 2017
The effect of the different electromagnetic stirring frequency after low temperature pouring on microstructures and mechanical properties of Al-7Si-0.42 Mg-0.1Cu alloys was studied. It was found that the primary α-Al becomes smaller and tended to be spherical morphology, and the particles were uniformly distributed after electromagnetic stirring.
