The scalar complex potential and the Aharonov-Bohm effect

open access: yes, 2010
The Aharonov-Bohm effect is traditionally attributed to the effect of the electromagnetic 4-potential $A$, even in regions where both the electric field $\mathbf{E}$ and the magnetic field $\mathbf{B}$ are zero. The AB effect reveals that multiple-valued

Coupling Theory of Emergent Spin Electromagnetic Field and Electromagnetic Field [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Physical Society of Japan, 2014
In ferromagnetic metals, an effective electromagnetic field which couples to conduction electron spin is induced by the sd exchange interaction. We investigate how this effective field, spin electromagnetic field, interacts with the ordinary electromagnetic field by deriving an effective Hamiltonian based on the path-integral formalism.

Effects of electromagnetic field on the dynamical instability of expansionfree gravitational collapse [PDF]

open access: yesGeneral Relativity and Gravitation, 2012
In this paper, we discuss the effects of electromagnetic field on the dynamical instability of a spherically symmetric expansionfree gravitational collapse.

Magnetic Field‐Assisted Conductive Nerve Guidance Conduit Enabling Peripheral Nerve Regeneration with Wireless Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a conductive nerve guidance conduit integrated with wireless electrical stimulation through alternating magnetic fields, which induces currents and creates a supportive microenvironment for nerve regeneration. In vivo studies show that this approach significantly enhanced myelin restoration, gastrocnemius muscle regeneration ...

Joule‐Assisted Nanotherapeutic Urethral Stent (JANUS) for Spatiotemporal Theragenerative Treatment of Urethral Strictures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Joule‐assisted nanotherapeutic urethral stent harnesses a smart, biodegradable magnesium stent to orchestrate spatiotemporal theragenerative therapy for urethral strictures. Magnetically induced Joule heating enables on‐demand drug release and bacterial ablation, while simultaneously guiding urothelial regeneration.

Upper bounds on absorption and scattering

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
A general framework for determining fundamental bounds in nanophotonics is introduced in this paper. The theory is based on convex optimization of dual problems constructed from operators generated by electromagnetic integral equations.

Design of One-Eighth Spherical Dielectric Resonator Antenna for 5G Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
A one-eighth spherical surface dielectric resonator antenna (OESS-DRA) is proposed first time. To analyze this thin shell structure, electromagnetic fields distribution is discussed by using the Hertz vector and boundary conditions.

Effects of pulsed electromagnetic field on knee osteoarthritis: a systematic review.

open access: yesRheumatology, 2013
OBJECTIVE Many reviews have been previously published on the efficacy of pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) in the management of knee OA. However, their results regarding pain and function yielded conflicting conclusions.

Conducting Polymer Microelectrode Arrays for Simultaneous Electrophysiology and Advanced Brain Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible micro‐electrocorticography array with PEDOT:SS electrodes is shown to be compatible with ultra‐high magnetic field MRI up to 9.4 T. Multimodal brain monitoring is demonstrated by performing simultaneous blood oxygen level‐dependent functional MRI in parallel with electrophysiology.
