Electromagnetic flowmeters in multiphase flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
The response of an Electromagnetic Flowmeter to a secondary, nonconducting phase in a continuous conducting phase is investigated. Experiments are carried out on a commercial 2" Foxboro flowmeter with sinusoidal mains field excitation and point ...

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Resonance Cones in the Field Pattern of a Short Radio Frequency Probe in a Warm Anisotropic Plasma [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
An experimental investigation of the angular field pattern of a small radio frequency probe in a plasma in a magnetic field is described. The field is observed to become very large along a resonance cone whose axis is parallel to the static magnetic ...

Radiation Pattern Synthesis Using Partially Reactively Loaded Antenna Array

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation
This work proposes a method for the synthesis of the shape of the whole radiation pattern at a single frequency using a partially reactively loaded antenna array.

The Structure of an Electromagnetic Field [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1918
This elementary field corresponds to a state of affairs in which electric charges of a concentrated form are created and travel along straight lines with the velocity of light, the directions of these lines being specified by the different values of the unit vector s.

On Localizing and Concentrating Electromagnetic Fields [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2018
We consider field localizing and concentration of electromagnetic waves governed by the time-harmonic anisotropic Maxwell system in a bounded domain. It is shown that there always exist certain boundary inputs which can generate electromagnetic fields with energy localized/concentrated in a given subdomain while nearly vanishing in another given ...

A Compact Spin‐Coated Graphene UWB Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A compact, spin‐coated graphene ultra‐wideband patch antenna designed for breast tumor detection, capable of distinguishing between malignant and benign tumors. This innovative antenna can serve as an effective initial screening tool, particularly in resource‐limited settings such as rural areas, where access to advanced medical equipment like MRI and ...

Modal Resonant Frequencies and Radiation Quality Factors of Microstrip Antennas

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2012
The chosen rectangular and fractal microstrip patch antennas above an infinite ground plane are analyzed by the theory of characteristic modes. The resonant frequencies and radiation Q are evaluated.

Recycling of NiTi Shape Memory Alloys: Fundamental and Technological Aspects of a Vacuum Induction Melting Processing Route

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.
