Solidification of Al alloys under electromagnetic pulses and characterization of the 3D microstructures under synchrotron x-ray tomography [PDF]
A novel programmable electromagnetic pulse device was developed and used to study the solidification of Al-15 pct Cu and Al-35 pct Cu alloys. The pulsed magnetic fluxes and Lorentz forces generated inside the solidifying melts were simulated using finite

The pion electromagnetic form factor [PDF]
A ratio of lattice correlation functions is identified from which the pion form factor can be obtained directly. Preliminary results from quenched Wilson simulations are presented.

Transport anomalies in a simplified model for a heavy electron quantum critical point [PDF]
We discuss the transport anomalies associated with the development of heavy electrons out of a neutral spin fluid using the large-N treatment of the Kondo-Heisenberg lattice model.

ELECTROMAGNETIC FORM FACTOR OF THE PION [PDF]
The Standard Model prediction for the magnetic moment of the muon requires a determination of the electromagnetic form factor of the pion at high precision. It is shown that the recent progress in pi-pi scattering allows us to obtain an accurate representation of this form factor on the basis of the data on e+e- -> pi+ pi-.
