Electromagnetic forming—A review

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2011
Abstract Electromagnetic forming is an impulse or high-speed forming technology using pulsed magnetic field to apply Lorentz’ forces to workpieces preferably made of a highly electrically conductive material without mechanical contact and without a working medium.

Analysis of coil temperature rise in electromagnetic forming with coupled cooling method

International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2020
The long-life driving coil is the prerequisite for electromagnetic forming industrial application. Up to date, the temperature rise is one of the major factors that restrain its working life.

Electromagnetic Metal Forming

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, 1965
Some results of an experimental and theoretical investigation of the dynamic forming of thin-walled tubes and flat circular diaphragms by the electromagnetic metal forming process are given. The paper is divided into two parts. Part 1—The magnetic forming process is described and its use as a production technique is discussed.

The electrodynamics of electromagnetic forming

International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 1968
Abstract A theoretical analysis of the process of tube expanding by electromagnetic forces indicates that time-varying tube inductance, circuit resistance and the irreversible plastic work done on the tube are significant parameters of the performance of the electromagnetic forming machine.

Tritium Electromagnetic Form Factors

Physical Review Letters, 1985
We have measured the charge and magnetic form factors of tritium for values of the momentum transfer up to 31.3 ${\mathrm{fm}}^{\ensuremath{-}2}$. The data are compared with calculations for the three-body system including meson-exchange-current contributions.

Electromagnetic Metal Forming

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1972
An analysis of the process of tube expansion by electromagnetic forces has been suggested for an approximate evaluation of pressure, velocity, and radius. Reasonable agreement is obtained with experimental results.

Electromagnetics and differential forms

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1981
Differential forms of various degrees go hand in hand with multiple integrals. They obviously constitute an essential tool in expressing the laws of physics. Some of their structures, however (exterior algebra, exterior differential operators, and others), are not widely known or used.
