Kinetic structure and wave properties associated with sharp dipolarization front observed by Cluster [PDF]
Multiple dipolarization fronts (DFs) were observed by Cluster spacecraft in the magnetotail during a substorm. These DFs were kinetic structures, embedded in the bursty plasma flow, and moved earthward (mainly) and dawnward.

Van Allen Probes observations of oxygen cyclotron harmonic waves in the inner magnetosphere
Waves with frequencies in the vicinity of the oxygen cyclotron frequency and its harmonics have been regularly observed on the Van Allen Probes satellites during geomagnetic storms.

Roles of Fast-Cyclotron and Alfven-Cyclotron Waves for the Multi-Ion Solar Wind
Using linear Vlasov theory of plasma waves and quasi-linear theory of resonant wave-particle interaction, the dispersion relations and the electromagnetic field fluctuations of fast and Alfven waves are studied for a low-beta multi-ion plasma in the ...

Magnetosonic (MS) waves and Electromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) waves are important plasma waves in the magnetosphere. Using the Van Allen Probes observations from 2012 to 2017, we constructed the global distribution of simultaneous occurrence of MS and

Coronal ion-cyclotron beam instabilities within the multi-fluid description
Spectroscopic observations and theoretical models suggest resonant wave-particle interactions, involving high-frequency ion-cyclotron waves, as the principal mechanism for heating and accelerating ions in the open coronal holes.

Spatiotemporal evolution of radio wave pump-induced ionospheric phenomena near the fourth electron gyroharmonic [PDF]
On 12 November 2001, the European Incoherent Scatter (EISCAT) high-frequency (HF) radio wave transmitter facility, operating in O-mode at 5.423 MHz with 550 MW effective radiated power, produced artificial optical rings which appeared immediately at ...

Abstract Based on 2‐year magnetic data from the Macau science satellite, we investigate the compressional Pc3‐4 pulsations (between 16 and 100 mHz) driven by upstream waves (UWs). Our results confirm larger UWs amplitudes in the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA) longitudes, agreeing with previous missions.
