A Flexible PVDF-based Platform Combining Acoustofluidics and Electromagnetic Metamaterials [PDF]
Acoustofluidic devices have been demonstrated effectively for liquid manipulation functionalities. Likewise, electromagnetic metamaterials have been employed as highly sensitive and wireless sensors. In this work, we introduced a new design combining the

Studies of electromagnetically induced transparency in metamaterials
We have studied electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in metamaterials for various schemes corresponding to those in an atomic medium. We numerically calculate a symmetric dolmen scheme of metamaterials corresponding to a tripod model of EIT-based optical switching and illustrate plasmonic double dark resonances.

Extreme‐Thickness Meta‐Membrane for Controlling Terahertz Vectorial Beams
We propose ultra‐thin (λ/30) transmissive terahertz metasurfaces combining near‐field resonant and detour phases in coupled‐slit meta‐atoms, enabling continuous phase and polarization control beyond conventional designs. Based on leaky‐mode theory, scalar and vectorial terahertz Bessel beams at 0.39 THz are experimentally demonstrated, with ...

Free-standing THz electromagnetic metamaterials
Using micromanufactured S-shaped gold strings suspended in free space by means of window-frames, we experimentally demonstrate an electromagnetic meta-material (EM(3)) in which the metallic structures are no longer embedded in matrices or deposited on substrates such that the response is solely determined by the geometrical parameters and the ...

A diagnostic method for reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) based on non‐uniform space‐time‐coding modulation is presented. Fault localization is achieved via amplitude‐only spectral measurements, eliminating the need for complex signal processing. A one‐to‐one mapping between harmonic components and RIS elements enables accurate detection.

Meta-Chirality: Fundamentals, Construction and Applications
Chiral metamaterials represent a special type of artificial structures that cannot be superposed to their mirror images. Due to the lack of mirror symmetry, cross-coupling between electric and magnetic fields exist in chiral mediums and present unique ...

A new type of dense silicon nitride-based metamaterial
Electromagnetic metamaterials have attracted widespread attention because of their unique properties, and the introduction of conductive metals or carbon into an insulating matrix is the main method for preparing metamaterials.

Dissipative loss in resonant metamaterials
Metamaterials allow for the creation of electromagnetic media with properties that are not found in or, are much weaker in, natural materials. The authors discuss design methods to minimize dissipative loss and the use of gain to compensate dissipation ...

Updatable Closed‐Form Evaluation of Arbitrarily Complex Multiport Network Connections
The inverse design of electrically large wave devices often uses reduced‐order multiport models with discrete optimization, requiring many evaluations of complex interconnections between subsystems that differ only in a few blocks. This paper introduces a closed‐form framework enabling efficient Woodbury low‐rank updates of related, previous ...
