Electromagnetic compatibility in power systems /

open access: yes, 2007
A large amount of natural or artificially produced physical phenomena are exploited for practical applications, even though several of them give rise to unpleasant consequences. These ultimately manifest themselves under form of malfunction or definitive

Light‐Switched Mesenchymal Stem Cells for In Situ Exosome Amplification in Craniofacial Bone Defect Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Light‐switchable MSCs (MSC‐UCNPs) were constructed by intracellular incorporation of UCNPs. Upon 980 nm irradiation, UCNPs emitted localized ultraviolet light (365 nm), activating the ROS/HEXB/LAMP1 signaling pathway to suppress lysosome–multivesicular body fusion and thereby enhance exosome biogenesis. Embedded within an injectable hydrogel, MSC‐UCNPs

In the wind: Artistic reflection of wind and electromagnetic phenomena

open access: yes, 2012
The thesis deals with artworks, which are based on natural electromagnetic and eolian processes. It analyzes how these elementary phenomena define a topic and work of selected artists. Earth and wind as the driver? Creative tool? The score?

Concurrent Terahertz Spin Excitations and Phase Shift Control in Fe4Nb2O9: A Material for Synergizing Computation and Communication Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional terahertz (THz) platform is demonstrated, in a model material Fe4Nb2O9, exhibiting a large intrinsic THz phase shift alongside distinct THz magnon excitations in its antiferromagnetic phase. This coexistence of phase modulation and spin dynamics offers a promising pathway toward integrated THz communication and magnonic computation ...

Temperature‐Driven Emission Redistribution of Yb2+ in SrB4O7 Enables Highly Sensitive Optical Thermometry Supported by Multiple Linear Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel optical thermometer exploits the rare UV emission of Yb2+ ions in a SrB4O7 host, enabling highly sensitive, non‐contact temperature measurements from 80 to 420 K. The applied multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis results in a multiple increase in the resulting temperature sensitivity.

Fundamental bounds on electromagnetic phenomena

open access: yes
We extend a prior scattering operator framework for computing fluctuational electromagnetic phenomena to include torque phenomena in the thermal equilibrium and nonequilibrium regimes.
