Modeling of Transport Phenomena and Electromagnetics

2008
Abstract This article examines critical features of four key areas of modeling transport phenomena associated with casting processes. These include heat and species transport in a metal alloy, flow of the liquid metal, tracking of the free metal-gas surface, and inducement of metal flow via electromagnetic fields.

Electromagnetic Phenomena in Crystal Growth

2001
Integrated circuits and optical devices are produced on wafers sliced from single crystals that are grown from a body of liquid semiconductor or melt. The crystal must have few defects, such as dislocations, and must have uniform distributions of dopants, which are added to the melt to give the crystal the desired electrical or optical properties ...

Electromagnetic Phenomena in Nature and Their Causes

Nature & Science
Abstract All physical phenomena that occur in nature are related to one or another mutual effects. Electric and magnetic phenomena are of particular importance in order to gain extensive knowledge about the structure of the world around us. Electric and magnetic forces can be transmitted over a certain distance like gravitational forces.

Associating disconnectedness with electromagnetic phenomena

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2009
Abstract A seemingly unique interpretation of the concept of disconnectedness is discussed. It is then used to simplify an analysis of several well-known physical phenomena related to electromagnetism.

Fundamental Electromagnetic Phenomena in Superconductors

2007
Chapter 2 deals with the flux flow state driven by the Lorentz force and a mechanism of ohmic electric resistivity is microscopically described based on the Bardeen-Stephen model. On the other hand, the losses in superconductors are non-ohmic ones with a hysteretic nature and do not depend on the flux resistivity.
