Evaluation of Field-Diffusion Charging Models for Airborne Suspended Particles Charged by Corona Ions: Sum of Charge Quantities and Sum of Charging Rates

open access: yesCSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems
To evaluate field-diffusion charging models, a systematic comparative study is conducted in this paper. A field-diffusion charge quantity sum model (FDCQSM) and a field-diffusion charging rate sum model (FDCRSM) are introduced in which the Maxwell-Wagner

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Piezoresistive Monitoring of Carbon Nanomaterial‐Reinforced Epoxy Composites Under Cyclic and Fatigue Loading: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon nanomaterial‐reinforced epoxy composites exhibit pronounced piezoresistive behavior, enabling intrinsic damage sensing under cyclic and fatigue loading. This review critically compares carbon nanotube and graphene systems, correlating filler content, percolation threshold, and gauge factor with sensing stability and damage evolution.

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

Understanding of macro-segregation in direct-chill cast 2024 alloy with intensive melt shearing based on the evolution of microstructure and temperature field

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
The influence of intensive melt shearing (IMS) on macro-segregation has been systematically investigated. Experimental results show that the negative centerline segregation is effectively suppressed when the IMS is applied. To reveal the mechanism of IMS
