Electromagnetic inverse scattering
1971 Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 1971An Electromagnetic Inverse Scattering Identity, based on the Physical Optics Approximation, is developed for the monostatic scattered far field cross section of perfect conductors. Uniqueness of this inverse identity is proven. This identity requires complete scattering information for all frequencies and aspect angles.

Domain Derivatives in Electromagnetic Scattering
Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 1996The author studies the differentiable dependence of a class of boundary operators on the region of integration. He extends his results to the case of operators which occur in the treatment of time harmonic electromagnetic scattering problems by boundary integral equation methods.

Electromagnetic scattering from turbulent plasmas
Physical Review A, 1992A self-consistent multiple-scattering theory of vector electromagnetic waves scattered from a turbulent plasma is presented. This approach provides a general and systematic treatment to all orders in turbulence of the scattering of electromagnetic waves in terms of the properties of the turbulent structure of the scattering system and is applicable in ...

Electromagnetic Scattering by Periodic Structures
Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2004The paper considers the existence and uniqueness problem for the stationary scattering of electromagnetic waves (diffraction) on a structure which is localized in the propagation direction of the wave, and is periodic in two other directions, taking piece-wise constant values (this corresponds to the usual structure of diffraction gratings).

Broadband electromagnetic scattering by particles
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2008The so-called sum rule for the extinction cross section has been the subject of several publications. However, it has not been obtained directly from the macroscopic Maxwell equations but rather follows from heuristic causality considerations. It is argued that these causality considerations are, in fact, questionable and do not follow from the ...

Scattering of electromagnetic radiation
2023Abstract In this chapter we discuss the scattering of electromagnetic waves by charged particles. We define the scattering cross-section. We then consider the scattering of electromagnetic waves from free electrons, giving rise to the Thomson cross section, expressed in terms of the classical electron radius.

Electromagnetic scattering of hyperons
Il Nuovo Cimento, 1961The interaction between the magnetic moment of a neutral hyperon and the charge of a nucleus causes large polarizations in small-angle scattering. The feasibility of using the effect to measure the magnetic moment is considered.

Concurrent electromagnetic scattering analysis
7th Computers in Aerospace Conference, 1989The computational power of the hypercube parallel computing architecture is applied to the solution of large-scale electromagnetic scattering and radiation problems. Three analysis codes have been implemented. A Hypercube Electromagnetic Interactive Analysis Workstation was developed to aid in the design and analysis of metallic structures such as ...

MRTD electromagnetic scattering analysis
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2000In this paper, we have developed a multiresolution time-domain (MRTD) scheme to analyze two-dimensional (2-D) scattering objects with comparison to the corresponding finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. We have applied an anisotropic perfectly matched layer (APML) absorber for open boundary truncation in the content of the MRTD scattering ...
