Theoretical Analysis of a Magnetic Shielding System Combining Active and Passive Modes

open access: yesNanomaterials
Considering the magnetic shielding requirements of both geomagnetic field and 50 Hz power-line frequency in the complex working conditions of the power grid, an electromagnetic shielding system combining active and passive modes is proposed in this ...

Gravitational Shielding Effects in Gauge Theory of Gravity

open access: yes, 2003
In 1992, E.E.Podkletnov and R.Nieminen find that, under certain conditions, ceramic superconductor with composite structure has revealed weak shielding properties against gravitational force. In classical Newton's theory of gravity and even in Einstein's

The high magnetic coupling passive loop: A steady-state and transient analysis of the thermal behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper deals with a new concept of technology for the mitigation of the magnetic field produced by underground power lines called "High Magnetic Coupling Passive Loop" (HMCPL). The working principle of this technique is the creation of a current with

Layered Nanoporous Platforms for SERS Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Here, we present a detailed investigation of the SERS performance of layered nanoporous metals. The controlled deposition of well‐defined, stacked porous layers enabled a systematic analysis of the effects of multimetallic systems in SERS experiments. Numerical models are also used to support the experimental findings.

Benchmarking Coaxial and Angular Optical Emission Spectroscopy With Recommendations for Reliable Compositional In Situ Monitoring During Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Real‐time insight into local chemistry is critical for reliable part quality in additive manufacturing, especially laser powder bed fusion (PBF‑LB/M), where rapid thermal cycles and localized evaporation can undermine part performance. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) offers non‑intrusive, in situ plume monitoring, but detection geometry ...
