Stereo Tracking Error Analysis by Comparison with an Electromagnetic Tracking Device [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
To analyze the performance of a vision-based tracking algorithm a good reference information is needed. Magnetic trackers are often used for this purpose, but the inevitable transformation of coordinate systems can result in notable alignment errors. This paper presents an approach for estimating the accuracy of various transformation models as well as

Extraction of Shaft-Rate Electromagnetic Field of Ships Based on Adaptive Fourier Decomposition

open access: yes水下无人系统学报, 2023
The shaft-rate electromagnetic field is a crucial feature of ships and undersea vehicles. However, due to the presence of static electromagnetic fields, the signal-to-noise ratio of the shaft-rate electromagnetic fields is greatly reduced. To effectively

AuraRing

open access: yesCommunications of the ACM, 2019
Wearable computing platforms, such as smartwatches and head-mounted mixed reality displays, demand new input devices for high-fidelity interaction. We present AuraRing, a wearable magnetic tracking system designed for tracking fine-grained finger movement. The hardware consists of a ring with an embedded electromagnetic transmitter coil and a wristband

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Distortion-Free Magnetic Tracking of Metal Instruments in Image-Guided Interventions

open access: yesSensors
Electromagnetic tracking (EMT) can benefit image-guided interventions in cases where line of sight is unavailable. However, EMT can suffer from electromagnetic distortion in the presence of metal instruments.
