Graphics-Processing-Unit-Based Acceleration of Electromagnetic Transients Simulation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2016
This paper presents a novel parallelization approach to speedup EMT simulation, using GPU-based computing. This paper extends earlier published works in the area, by exploiting additional parallelism to accelerate EMT simulation. A 2D-parallel matrix-vector multiplication is used that is faster than previous 1D-methods.

An efficient electromagnetic transient modeling and simulation method for ANPC three-level converters

open access: yesZhejiang dianli
According to a small-step real-time simulation study on active neutral-point clamped (ANPC) three-level converters, existing electromagnetic transient modeling methods are inferior in model accuracy, computational efficiency, simulation scale, etc.

Parallel Massive-Thread Electromagnetic Transient Simulation on GPU

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2014
The electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation of a arge-scale power system consumes so much computational power that parallel programming techniques are urgently needed in this area. For example, realistic-sized power systems include thousands of buses, generators, and transmission lines.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.
