Enhanced Electromagnetic Wave Absorption of SiOC/Porous Carbon Composites

open access: yesMaterials, 2022
Carbon-based materials have been widely explored as electromagnetic (EM) wave absorbing materials with specific surface areas and low density. Herein, novel porous carbon/SiOC ceramic composites materials (porous C/sp-SiOC) were prepared from the binary mixture, which used the low cost pitch as carbon resource and the polysilylacetylene (PSA) as SiOC ...

Wavelength‐Dependent Differential Amplification of Raman Scattering by Chiral Gold Nanorods for Multiplexed Encoding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The SERS spectra of reporter molecules adsorbed on chiral gold nanorods depends on the handedness of circularly polarized light (CPL‐SERS). The bisignate plasmonic CD spectra of chiral nanorods provides wavelength‐dependent CPL‐SERS. Selective discrimination of chiral nanorod handedness and different Raman reporters allow highly sensitive codification ...

Electromagnetic energy within a magnetic infinite cylinder and scattering properties for oblique incidence

open access: yes, 2010
In this work we analytically calculate the time-averaged electromagnetic energy stored inside a nondispersive magnetic isotropic cylinder which is obliquely irradiated by an electromagnetic plane wave.

Spin-wave chirality and its manifestations in antiferromagnets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
As first demonstrated by Tang and Cohen in chiral optics, the asymmetry in the rate of electromagnetic energy absorption between left and right enantiomers is determined by an optical chirality density [1]. Here, we demonstrate that this effect can exist

Total Absorption of Electromagnetic Waves in Ultimately Thin Layers [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2013
We consider single-layer arrays of electrically small lossy bi-anisotropic particles that completely absorb electromagnetic waves at normal incidence. Required conditions for electromagnetic properties of bi-anisotropic particles have been identified in the most general case of uniaxial reciprocal and nonreciprocal particles.

Double Helical Plasmonic Antennas

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic double helical antennas funnel circularly polarized light to the nanoscale, offering strong chiroptical interaction and directional light emission. Extending a single helix design tool, this study combines numerical modeling with experimental validation, revealing large, broadband dissymmetry factors in the visible range.

Synthesis, modulation of electromagnetic properties of FeCo/PPy nanocomposites

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2019
In order to improve the impedance matching and wave absorption, FeCo magnetic nanoparticles with different reaction time were synthesized, and after being modified and in-situ oxidation polymerization, FeCo/PPy nanocomposites were prepared.

Magnetic and electromagnetic properties of Fe/Fe2–3N composites prepared by high-energy ball milling

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
In this study, high-energy ball milling processes were adopted to prepare Fe/Fe2–3N composites. The phase composition and microstructure of the composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and high-resolution ...

The dielectric properties of polymer derived silicon oxycarbonitride film incorporated with TiO2 for electromagnetic wave absorption

open access: yesOpen Ceramics, 2023
The polysilazane preceramic precursor is applied as a coating on ceramic substrates and pyrolyzed at different temperatures to form a silicon oxycarbonitride ceramic film for its dielectric properties in the low-frequency range of 1–8 MHz.

Miniature Nanomesh Mechano‐Acoustic Sensor with Wide Linear Dynamic Range, Broad Bandwidth, and Flat Frequency Response

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A miniaturized mechano‐acoustic sensor is developed using an electrospun PVDF nanomesh as the diaphragm in a capacitive sensor structure. Unlike conventional nanomesh‐based sensors, it achieves high linear sensitivity, a broad and flat frequency response, and a compact form factor.
