Low‐Profile, High‐Gain GRIN RF Lenses via Multi‐Material Vat Photopolymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We investigate the opportunity of leveraging multi‐material vat photopolymerization printing to manufacture intricate lenses exhibiting permittivity gradients that can increase signal gain in transmitted radiofrequency signals in the X‐ and Ku‐bands. Lenses produced with more distinct low‐loss materials (up to 5) can deliver an 18 dB signal gain with a

2D simulation of the electromagnetic wave across the non-uniform reentry plasma sheath with COMSOL

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
The simulation of the electromagnetic wave propagation plays an important role in solving the communication blackout issue. Finite element analysis software package COMSOL is employed by us to model the electromagnetic wave propagation in the presence of

Electromagnetic wave propagation in a superconducting parallel-plate waveguide filled with an indefinite medium

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
The electromagnetic wave propagation is analysed in a superconducting parallel-plate waveguide filled with an indefinite medium. The dispersion relations of transverse electric and transverse magnetic wave modes are derived by using the Meissner boundary

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Energetic electron precipitation during substorm injection events: High-latitude fluxes and an unexpected midlatitude signature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Geosynchronous Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL-97A) satellite particle data, riometer data, and radio wave data recorded at high geomagnetic latitudes in the region south of Australia and New Zealand are used to perform the first complete modeling ...

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Self‐Assembled Inorganic Nanomembrane Tubes: Rolled‐Up Piezoelectrics for Microacoustic Wave‐Based Actuators and Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a self‐assembly process to generate free‐standing piezoelectric nanomembranes, forming ultracompact microtubular acoustic wave sensors and actuators. The miniaturized 3D piezoelectric platform reported in this work can be applied in telecommunication, energy harvesting, and acoustofluidics. Moreover, the 3D self‐assembly can add

Wave propagation in electromagnetic media

open access: yes, 1990
This is the second work of a set of two volumes on the phenomena of wave propagation in nonreacting and reacting media. The first, entitled Wave Propagation in Solids and Fluids (published by Springer-Verlag in 1988), deals with wave phenomena in ...
